With the experimental branch of pilot-qof being delayed by pilot-link
(http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=9223699&forum_id=45298),
I'm considering releasing qof 0.6.1 next week, possibly on 3/1/6.
(UK date format: d/m/y)

I have test packages available at my trivial apt repository:
deb http://www.linux.codehelp.co.uk/ packages/
deb-src http://www.linux.codehelp.co.uk/ packages/

Packaging files are available for Fedora and OSX in QOF CVS - due to be
updated later today.

libqof1 0.6.1-1, pilot-qof 0.0.7-1

The biggest change in libqof1 is support for INSERT SQL-type commands and
replacing gnc-trace.c|h with qoflog.c|h, along with the deprecated code to
maintain compatibility. These changes will be included into gnucash svn upon
qof release. 0.6.1 also includes some gnucash changes.

pilot-qof should then be available for release the week after, 9/1/6 or so, at
version 0.0.7. This will be aimed at Debian unstable, replacing the current
experimental package and depending on pilot-link 0.11.8 and libqof1 0.6.1.

pilot-qof 0.0.7 supports options designed to make it easy to create invoices
from Palm data via QSF XML, either with or without a HotSync as well as
prototype upload support for inserting data into a Palm.

Further work for pilot-qof involves utilising sync functionality to resolve
upload issues, and implementing qoflogic and qofundo features as they become
available, leading to 0.0.8 and a stable release later this year - hopefully
depending on pilot-link 0.12.

Some work remains in QOF to get this QSF data imported into gnucash, this is
expected for qof 0.6.2 which is planned for February/March 2006. Undo support
may be added - depending on other commitments - at which point qof would be
bumped to v0.7.0 and beta status, still as libqof1.

gnotime again seems fine with this latest version of libqof1.

libqof1 and pilot-qof 0.0.7 packages are linda and lintian clean.

Remaining targets for QOF are limited to (in rough order):
1. libgda pluggable backends for sqlite, postgres, mysql and others - these
are for the 'host' box/PC.
2. sqlite backend designed only for embedded systems and a conditional build
that removes deprecated code from the embedded build to conserve space at the
cost of backwards compatibility. My embedded system code using qof is still
at an early stage so this is not particularly troublesome.
3. qoflogic - API support for object, collection and book level logic held
within objects themselves.
4. move to libqof2 - which I plan to make the first stable release of QOF.
