Package: garmin-forerunner-tools
Version: 0.10repacked-3
Severity: important
Tags: upstream

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
After updating to garmin-forerunner-toools-0.10repacked-3, the package binaries
fail to connect to the GPS watch. The error message is

$ garmin_get_info
Error: command 5 not supported

A google search on this issue brought me to the upstream bug tracker,
http://code.google.com/p/garmintools/issues/detail?id=35, where someone else
has found it on Arch Linux and found that it was due to an issue when compiling
with GCC 4.8. There is a patch attached to that bug, but I have not tested it
to confirm that it's the same bug. The build logs for this version of the
debian package shows that it was built with gcc 4.8, however.
