As you have probably seen by now, we have (as most debian packaging git
repos) a particular structure, with three branches "upstream", "pristine-tar",
and "master". This applies to the model where upstream software is
released in form of tarballs. These are then imported into the git repo
by using "git-import-orig", available in the "git-buildpackage" package.
You should also install the package "pristine-tar".
