Indeed, the package doesn't build with git-buildpackage, because of:

dpkg-source: info: using source format `3.0 (quilt)'
dpkg-source: info: building garmin-ant-downloader using existing ./garmin-ant-downloader_20110626.orig.tar.gz
dpkg-source: warning: file garmin-ant-downloader/README has no final newline (either original or modified version)
dpkg-source: info: local changes detected, the modified files are:
garmin-ant-downloader/README
garmin-ant-downloader/garmin-ant-downloader.1

As the package is format 3.0(quilt), all changes to "upstream" files
(such as adding the README and mandpage files) should go into a patch
in debian/patches.

An alternative way is to add these files into the upstream branch,
repackage it as 20131010 or something, then reimport that into master
in pristine-tar branches. Well, more or less something like this but
Ralf can probably give better advice than ma.

Ok, thank you for the feedback! I need to learn more on these.

What is the exact command line that you use for building the package? During my own CI (https://travis-ci.org/ralovich/garmin-ant-downloader) I would like to build test the final package too.
