[Pkg-scicomp-devel] problems with cholmod and atlas3-base-dev

Hi, 

the configure script of Octave 2.9.6 (not yet in the archive) fails to
detect the cholmod library if atlas3-base-dev is used for both
liblapack3 and libblas3. 

Installing lapack3-dev lets the test succeed.

I attach a snippet from config.log (this is gcc-4.0 on AMD64). Am I
wrong in my thinking that atlas3-base-dev should provide those two libs
(or the symbols from them)?
