   Okay, suits me fine (I'm not fond of trunk/branches because the trunk
can be either experimental or unstable depending on the package status,
but it's really not a problem, I can have local symlinks).

   Do you have some magic to checkout the whole repository but ignore
tags/branches subdirectories?

   My Alioth username is "sho", btw.

   It's really only because I asked for it... Having a place where my
work is available for others if I get hit by a bus seemed obvious to
me, but the Alioth admin told me no one had asked for such a repository
before (probably because collab-maint exists). If you want one, just ask
and I'm sure you'll get it :-)
