sciences of computing. It is pretty large. That would include for
example: linear algebra, visualisation, partial differential equations

you can check what's already packaged by pkg-scicomp to get an idea.

that would definitely fit in. from a pde perspective and in a
multiscale context, equivalent electrical circuits/models(0D) are
developed for mechanical/biological systems and are coupled for
example with 2D/3D models.
For example this is done in the simulation of blood flows in the
cardiovascular system.
