I looked at your package and it builds on my updated Debian unstable.
I am getting these lintian warnings:

$ lintian qd_2.3.4-1_i386.changes
W: qd source: changelog-should-mention-nmu
W: qd source: source-nmu-has-incorrect-version-number 2.3.4-1
W: libqd2ldbl: package-name-doesnt-match-sonames libqd-2.3.4
W: libqd-dev: binary-without-manpage usr/bin/qd-config

However,
now I need to commit your changes into the svn, which is located here:

svn+ssh://certik-guest@svn.debian.org/svn/pkg-scicomp/qd/trunk

And this svn is kind of broken. CCing to Debian Scientific Computing
Team - we need to clean this svn up - remove all stuff
except the debian directory, plus patches. Tim, I noticed your .diff
contains a lot of patches directly into the sources. I suggest to use
patches in the debian dir, I suggest quilt - but this can be done later.

For now, we need to merge the changes into the svn and make it build.
I currently don't have time for this, so anyone feel free to do it
and then upload the package. Also please check the lintian warnings
and if there are some besides the current package in Debian, please
fix them too.

Ondrej
