Dear All,
I'm the main author of the CImg Library ( http://cimg.sourceforge.net/),
packaged as 'cimg-dev' on Debian. Note that I'm not the author of the
actual debian package itself.
Along with F-X Dupé, we worked quite hard to create a script that is
able to generate a 'cimg-dev' .deb package automatically updated at each
new CImg release (in fact, this occurs quite often, since we have
approximately a two months release cycle). This package is mainly based
on the one created by the original cimg-dev maintainers (Sam Hocevar and
Christophe Prud'homme). It passes the 'linda' and 'lintian' tests. The
structure of the package has been slightly modified from the original
one, but is really coherent and should comply with the debian rules.
I was wondering if you would be interested to
(1) get this recent version of the 'cimg-dev' package for possible
inclusion in the debian repository.
(2) More generally, have a way to update 'cimg-dev' more regularly and
more easily (the current version of 'cimg-dev' present in the Debian
repository is almost obsolete now), using the script we made.
The CImg Library is a quite small library, so its overall structure do
not change from one version to another. That's why a simple script can
do the job correctly I guess.
You can check our latest 'cimg-dev' package at :
http://downloads.sourceforge.net/cimg/cimg-dev_1.2.6-1_all.deb?modtime=1200046410&big_mirror=0
Of course, from our side we are very motivated to help for this purpose,
if you need to, so do not hesitate to give us your feedback about this idea.
Regards,
David.
