No problem that you never contributed before, we'll help you with
everything you need to learn.

Download the package from svn, e.g. see the lines:

Vcs-Svn: svn://svn.debian.org/svn/pkg-scicomp/opencv/trunk/
Vcs-Browser: http://svn.debian.org/wsvn/pkg-scicomp/opencv/

and try to compile it. Then apply your patch. If all works, send us
your patch, and we'll apply it to the svn and upload if all is fine.

You can also create an alioth account and Christophe will add you to
our team if you want. Then you can commit directly.
