Thanks for your report.

I don't have this problem with ex2, or any other example.  Unfortunately
the shlib is stripped so there are no symbols to check. :-(

What's your architecture?  It's fine on amd64.

[Some examples have more than one .C file to compile, so the
instructions are wrong for such examples.  I just filed a bug to see
about fixing this.  But that's a separate problem.]
