I just uploaded the package to unstable and it will go into the NEW queue.
I tested it by building the octave3.2 package against my new
libsuitesparse-dev_1:3.4.0-1 (no source changes was needed) and everything
went well build- and test-wise.

You were right, there was no needs for the Conflicts and I removed them.
