Thank you, but that failed in the same way the second time around
instead of the first.  It's bizarre that the indicated files would be
absent, as they're created by a python script which works on all the
other arches.

Because this works everywhere else, and has nothing to do with asm or
platform identification, endianness, word size, char sign, or other
platform-specific issues, this is probably not a petsc issue, so I'm
downgrading it to important.
