Dear colleague,

This message was sent to you because we have received a request to add you as a member of INTAIDS, one of the eForums coordinated by Health and Development Networks (www.hdnet.org).

If you do not wish to join this eForum - DO NOTHING - your email will be automatically removed from our database if we do not hear from you in the next seven days.

*************************************************************
Why do we ask new members to confirm requests to join forums?
*************************************************************

As well as the many genuine eForum 'join' requests received by HDN each day, there are several scenarios that potentially lead to an individual email being incorrectly added to one of our eForums. This includes email being incorrectly addressed or being mishandled as a join request by our system, and also so-called 'spoof' emails - a tactic used by email 'spammers' and malicious senders that make emails appear to be from specific people when they are not.

Protecting individuals from any unwanted emails or forum postings is a high priority for HDN. In order to ensure this, HDN operates an 'opt-in policy' for all of its eForums. By asking you to confirm your join request for specific eForums, we can eliminate the risk of any unwanted mails in the future.

In order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy and confidentiality, HDN has created a comprehensive privacy policy that includes full disclosure of information-gathering practices for our web site, and the anti-spam and membership policies for the eForums managed by HDN using the eforums.healthdev.org site.

For further information about this policy, please go to:

http://www.hdnet.org/privacy.asp

Or if you have specific questions, please write to HDN at:
