>> Okay, http://web.mit.edu/tabbott/Public/quaddouble-debian/ contains a new
>> qd package that should fix all the currently open bugs against it.
>>
>> I've emailed the upstream maintainer about the #include <cstring> issue as
>> well.
>>
>> You'll probably want to recompile on a real Debian testing machine (mine
>> is not entirely up-to-date), but that should be easy.
>>
>> Let me know if you need me to do anything else.
>
> I looked at your package and it builds on my updated Debian unstable.
> I am getting these lintian warnings:
>
> $ lintian qd_2.3.4-1_i386.changes
> W: qd source: changelog-should-mention-nmu
> W: qd source: source-nmu-has-incorrect-version-number 2.3.4-1
> W: libqd2ldbl: package-name-doesnt-match-sonames libqd-2.3.4
> W: libqd-dev: binary-without-manpage usr/bin/qd-config

I wasn't convinced flagging it as an NMU was appropriate given that I was
packaging a new upstream source, so I didn't do that.

The "package-name-doesnt-match-sonames" error is something the previous
package had (it's because it uses -release in LDFLAGS rather than
-version-info). It's easy to change, but I wasn't sure what the right
answer was and thus stuck with the previous version's solution.

> However,
> now I need to commit your changes into the svn, which is located here:
>
> svn+ssh://certik-guest@svn.debian.org/svn/pkg-scicomp/qd/trunk
>
> And this svn is kind of broken. CCing to Debian Scientific Computing
> Team - we need to clean this svn up - remove all stuff
> except the debian directory, plus patches. Tim, I noticed your .diff
> contains a lot of patches directly into the sources. I suggest to use
> patches in the debian dir, I suggest quilt - but this can be done later.

All of the patches are already in quilt. The rest of the changes are the
result of DEB_AUTO_UPDATE_AUTOMAKE regenerating the upstream Makefile.in
files; I've regenerated the source packages without this problem (sorry
about that).

> For now, we need to merge the changes into the svn and make it build.
> I currently don't have time for this, so anyone feel free to do it
> and then upload the package. Also please check the lintian warnings
> and if there are some besides the current package in Debian, please
> fix them too.
