I decided to include it because it is a better solution than existent 
one, as you stated.
Surely, the early exit if the executable does not exist is a good idea. 
I will rewrote the script to keep it.

I included this patch because i jbelieve that the test included doesn't 
create any trouble and it solves the issue.
The submiter send it just a year ago (15 Jun 2015) so it is not so old.
Anyway, i will revert and close the bug.

I will do the suggested changes and i'll test the package. In 2-3 weeks 
it should be ready.
