[Pkg-silc-devel] stepping back from silc packaging for debian

hey folks--

To be responsible, i think i need to step back from participating in the
debian pkg-silc-devel team.

I'm currently not actively using silc any more, and i'm afraid i've lost
steam in terms of seeing it as an actively useful project.

I'm one of the authors of the following page, which outlines problems
with silc that don't seem to be addressed in the current implementation
or specification:

 https://we.riseup.net/riseup+tech/problems-with-silc

The debian silc packaging team *has* managed to resolve the concerns
raised about packaging and distribution (good work, y'all, especially
lunar!), but the other issues remain unresolved.

Sorry for the downer. If there are specific things needed by the SILC
team that i can contribute, let me know and i'll see what i can do to
help. But my enthusiasm for silc is pretty low right now, and i don't
see that changing in the near future :(

Regards,

	--dkg
