I think the actual packaging of 'gspca' for distribution has not much
relevance in this case and am more than happy to do the extra packaging
work to support gspca in Debian and Kanotix.
The only real drawback is the wait after an initial upload to debian, as
the ftpmasters decide whether or not to accept the new packages, and
this is not too much to worry about, imho.
Also note, I am not a "Debian Developer", therefore I rely on Otavio for
advise and to take care of the actual upload to Debian. I can however
use the Kanotix project as an experimental "staging ground" for the new
stuff.

No suggestions (yet!), I think you are doing a magnificent job so far
and I trust that the planned changes are going to result in a better
driver for the end user.

Sure I am interested. I am not sure how much I can contribute to the
actual development of gspca, but I can surely report problem and success
stories to you when I get the chance to play around with the new stuff.
In fact, I should probably subscribe to your mailing list . . .
