[Pkg-sql-ledger-discussion] LedgerSMB Postgres Errors & near complete package

The package no longer has Lintian errors and made some changes as far
as the location of the templates to be edited (moved to /etc).

Now I have a problem I can't get to the bottom of - possibly because
I've just been staring at it too long and I'm missing something
trivial. When I load up the application it goes OK, but then I try to
add a user and get:

Error!
UPDATE defaults
SET value = ?
WHERE setting_key = ?
ERROR: current transaction is aborted, commands ignored until end of
transaction block

And when I attempt to log in as that user:

Error!
LedgerSMB/User.pm:207
SELECT value FROM defaults
WHERE setting_key = 'version'
ERROR: relation "defaults" does not exist

Can someone more familiar with the internals of ledgersmb help out
with these issues?

Once this is resolved we will have a working package for Alioth and
can start looking to do extra things like auto-configuration of
apache2 and postgresql.

Thanks.
