[Pkg-squeak-devel] Bug#744289: this breaks a major part of scratch

All I can offer is that this must have been a change from a long time ago; I noticed the issue something like 5 years ago when I started on the scratch improvement project for RPF. Since the Pi hasn’t used any squeak related stuff from upstream debian since then I had no reason to spend any more time on it other than to ask Ian P if he knew anything. He pretty much exploded in invective at the idea that someone would over-ride his code in a distro without even telling him about a problem.
Debian should adopt the Sq5.1 VMs. If the jpeg library thing is still an issue (ie their version is still borken) then they will need to diff the code and so on. Our bundled version works; though I’m sure it could work better.
