I just branched it. At the same time, following http://honk.sigxcpu.org/projects/git-buildpackage/manual-html/gbp.import.html I renamed the boo-wheezy and upstream branches.

Now the repo looks like:

  backports/wheezy
  master
  security/jessie
  upstream/jessie
  upstream/sid
