I seem to recall something in the Debian git packaging documents about
being able to link to upstream git repositories. So it may be useful
for you to know Squid upstream is planning a move to git as well in
the coming year. At the very least we are already providing a github
mirror through https://github.com/squid-cache

I have plenty of free time this week. :-)

Just waiting on the git repo to be available on alioth, and some
instruction on how to get commit messages fitting with the changelog.
