Subversion 1.3(.1) for debian etch?

Yes - we want this too.  The current situation is waiting for two
things.  First, someone needs to track down a build failure on the
alpha architecture, which I have good reason to believe is actually a
bug in ruby1.8.

The second problem is the neon25 packages, which are also not in etch.
That, in turn, is waiting for someone to fix the RC bugs in the bazaar
package (which will be involved in the neon25 library transition) ...
or remove the latter from etch on the grounds that it is effectively
orphaned (the maintainer seems to be MIA, upstream has abandoned it,
and tla still works).

Frankly, the second problem we can work around - but for the first, I
can't guarantee my ability to fix ruby1.8. We had a similar bug on
powerpc not long ago, but unfortunately this one can't be blamed on the
same cause (and fixed the same way) - this one is different, though
probably related.  Earlier today a friend offered to meet me tomorrow
morning to debug this on his Alpha.  So we shall see what we shall see.
