The FAQ entry concerning this is about APR 0.9.6 and Mac OS X. Debian
runs APR 0.9.7 and the kernel is Linux, not Mac OS X. Thus I find it
unlikely that the error referred to in the FAQ entry is the same one
you are seeing.

Rumor has it, the Apache maintainers are planning someday to put Apache
2.0.59 into Debian, and that will probably include a newer version of
APR, though I do not know offhand which version. Meanwhile, subversion
1.4.0 has already hit Debian unstable, and while I do not claim that
1.4.0 is radically different from 1.3.2, it does represent a good 6
months of upstream development. If you could re-test with one or both
of those as they become available to you, I'd appreciate it.
