[Pkg-sympa-devel] Bug#728114: Sympa depends on non-existent package (sysklogd)

Package: sympa
Version: 6.1.11~dfsg-5

I have been trying to track down a dependency error in wheezy that
results in failed builds using live-build.

I reported bug #727640 against live-build, but they punted and said the
problem exists elsewhere.

I reported bug #728112 against sysklogd in order to request a resolution
as to why sysklogd exists in squeeze and jessie, but not wheezy, when
other packages still depend on it.

I then decided to do a bit more snooping with apt-rdepends and happened
to notice that sympa (which may or may not be the cause of my problem)
depends on sysklogd, which clearly does not exist in wheezy. The
information displayed for sympa on packages.debian.org confirms that
sympa depends on sysklogd, which does not exist in wheezy.

This bug report is a request to eliminate the dependency on sysklogd and
depend directly on its replacement, busybox-syslogd, or to work with the
sysklogd maintainers to figure out how to resolve the obvious dependency
errors.
