Neither am I, however my 2 co-maintainers are, so we should be able to
keep the package up to date easily.

Thank you. Please ask people to visit the synfig download page to get
debs, I've uploaded debs to my webspace until synfig is accepted into
Debian, after that I will remove them and point people to the Debian sid
and or backports.org packages.

No problem, thanks for your interest in synfig and Debian. 

BTW, if you are interested in being involved in Debian development, I
think a small team like pkg-synfig would be a great place to start, if
you are not already involved. Either way, we would welcome another
co-maintainer.
