where there is a paragraph about versions:

Version numbering: The version of these packages look quite strange, but
it consists of the last released TeX live version (2004) plus the
current date stamp (05.10.13). This way we can have packages of regular
TeX live releases (version 2005-n with n the Debian release number), and
intermediate packages between releases.


As TeX live 2005 is soon to be announced, after this we will start with
version 2005-1.
