Yes, that was my intention when I originally did that. Then it turned out
that the patch for init script is larger than the script itself :-), so I
ended up just shipping a new script instead. And it would be pretty tricky
to find a solution which would be accepted upstream, with all the
start-stop-daemon stuff and the policy-compliant (as much as reasonable)
output. I'll check what changes were made in the release, hopefully it
will not be too hard to integrate them.

Yes, and since there's currently no package, I would say that we should
not aim to upload the plugin right away, it would be nice to do at least
some minimum testing.

I'll check out what else have changed. The only thing which worries me is
that we might need some Debian-specific documentation changes, but it
should be possible to fix during the upcoming weekend.
