If replacing the line with its correct form fixed it, then it would be
a thinkpad-base bug:

KERNEL=="thinkpad",      MODE="0664", GROUP="thinkpad"


0.090-2 introduced some code which exposes incorrect usage of =/==
(see the Debian changelog for details).
