i know this issue ... i was advised by upstream not to use debian's
jquery (because of version updates) and i don't really know if jquery
has an unstable api or not.

I will follow your advice and patch trac to use jquery from debian.

That was because of #407118 [2]. Probably it does not apply anymore to
0.11 .
