AFAICT the alioth project didn't have any real follow-up, IOW no
activity. Matt (again AFAIR, please forgive me if I'm wrong) had never
ACKed the project too nor officially orphaned the package.

I currently have no time to spend on the package.
Anyway, as you can see from [1] mdz is the maintainer (as well as a
member of the alioth project)  so he is the main reference.
Anyway the last upload is more than a year old, not present in sarge, 34
bugs... I think your help is appreciated.
I'd happily add you to the alioth project if others agree, who knows
maybe some activity could grow some interest around the package :)
