oh, I thought /lib/tls/ was a prerogative of libc6 only, isn't it?
If so libc6 will already be present at first UML boot after creating the
rootfs so it shouldn't be a problem.

thanks will do as soon as possible, can anybody else give it a shot? I
won't have much time to do it myself in the next days.

I found that apache2 with mpm-worker (the threaded one) suffers of the
TLS problem with 2.6.16 kernels, so it may be a nice test having a
2.6.16 and a 2.6.17 uml kernel and testing that the same rootfs works
with both (one with automagically disabled tls and the other with full
tls support).
