Package: user-mode-linux
Version: 2.6.26-1um-2
Severity: normal

Hald initialization hangs forever when trying to install an ubuntu desktop (or just hal for testing) for an guest Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron). This has something to do with alsa in ubuntu (there are a number of bugs with sound and video in Hardy that are related to a change in module data structures, IIRC, for alsa). Apparently there is patch in ubuntu for 2.6.24-lum that might need to applied here.
