Hello,

I have had exactly  the same issue for quite a  while, not with xcompmgr
though  but with  unagi compositing  manager and  with Intel  driver (no
problem with fbdev though) so I guess this is a driver related issue.

Adding  'URxvt*cursorUnderline: True'  to  ~/.Xresources  works fine  as
investigated there[0].
