Just to better understand your position: why you don't like it?

This is untrue. Alternatives leverage the conflictuality of vim flavors
but do not solve the problem of users needing compile time features only
available in different executables like the submitter #149077 (who want
both perl and python support at the same time) and the guy asking me gtk
+ gnome + python.
