I promptly got a reply mail from Bram saying he'd forward it to the
maintainer of the html indentation plugin itself, but nothing
thereafter.

I don't really have enough knowledge to state if this is the correct
way to fix this bug, but it surely would be nice to have a fix
publicly available in Debian. Thanks for supplying the patch.
