hi norbert,

since a recent upgrade of vim mutt (which uses vim as the editor) composes=
=20
mail with too long lines. i suspect that older versions had a textwidth=3D75
or 78 in mail.vim, the new version definitely has not. is that possible? if
not, wouldn't it be a good idea to add this?

  textwidth is set in the mail.vim ftplugin, and that makes sense.

<quoting ftplugin/mail.vim>
" many people recommend keeping e-mail messages 72 chars wide
if &tw =3D=3D 0
  setlocal tw=3D72
endif
</quoting>

  So if you want to benefit from that you have to put :

  filetype plugin on

  in you .vimrc, and not set tw in it (since it would be understood as a
mail.vim overriding).

  another way if you really *want* to have some default tw in your
=2Evimrc, is to have :

  au FileType mail set tw=3D72

  in your .vimrc

  since plain vim (with plugins on, but no other config) will work fine,
I don't consider it beeing a package bug, but a user one

Cheers,
