Package: vim
Version: 5.8.003-1
Severity: wishlist

debian vim wrongly detects .asp as visual basic asp, although debian itself
allows only perl asp to run.
It also detects assumes .asa files are visual basic, which is wrong.

This bug no longer applies to current vim version (6.3) in debian.

According to /usr/share/vim/vim63/filetype.vim, when a .asp file is
opened it is checked to see if it contains perl or vbs. Only when the
file is empty per default vbs is chosen (choice that is as much
arbitrary as it would be perl).

Regarding .asa files, they are actually recognized as aspvbs.

I'm thus closing this bug.

Cheers.
