Done. Beware that I also downgraded the version to 6.4-001+1 (as you
pointed out), since the former version I used was erroneously 6.4-001+2.

I committed all my work as an "alternatives" branch (easier to
distribute among as) on svn, in:

  svn://svn.debian.org/svn/pkg-vim/branches/alternatives/

Binary packages (for i386 this time :-), built on a testing box):

  http://people.debian.org/~zack/vim/
