Lowercase umlauts are shown correctly: <ä> <ö> <ü>.
Uppercase umlauts and sharp s are not: <Ä> <Ö> <Ü> <ß>.
My .vimrc contains only one line: set encoding=utf-8
more, less, nano show all umlauts correctly. I tested
on console, xfce4-terminal, and rxvt-unicode-lite.
