Hi Nick,

a while ago (somewhen in 2002, to be honest), a bug was filed against
the vim package in Debian:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=136455

This seems to be still valid in vim 7.0, could you please take a look
at it?
