I'm sure you'll be able to find your way through the repo structure by
yourself. Also, feel free to join us on #debian-vim / OFTC. Similarly,
our mailing list is the one you see I'm Cc-ing.

Since you're probably going to work (also) on some syntax/plugin scripts
for which we---Debian VIM maintainers---are upstream, I'll start with a
tiny job request for you (... and note that this is nothing, considering
your sustained bug report ratio in the last few days :-)))): we have
stuff like debchangelog.vim which is maintained in our repository but
outside the package itself. And then the vim package applies patch to
the outside version during package build: that's dumb. If you have a bit
of time please move the debian related vim files directly inside the vim
package (and possibly update their URLs, which are advertised directly
in the .vim files).
