Hmm, I'm unable to reproduce this in a clean chroot nor have I seen it
in the upgrades I've been doing on my system to test the packages.
In the chroot tests, I've installed vim & vim-tiny (which automatically
pulls in vim-common and vim-runtime) and then upgrade to the
experimental versions. Everything worked fine. I tried different
ordering of packages on the command-line as well as simply performing an
upgrade of all packages in case it was an issue with order of upgrades.
Could you post the output of “dpkg-divert --list” and
“ls -l /usr/share/vim/vim71/doc”?
