This worked fine for me when using
/usr/share/doc/vim-common/changelog.Debian.gz as the test file.

“:help E326” explains that. That might be related.

You would need “vim -u NORC /usr/share/doc/arora/changelog.gz” so the
plugins are still used. Could you try that?
