Bug#593008: syntax/markdown: underscores and asterisks surrounded by spaces

The markdown syntax says that

  If you surround an * or _ with spaces, it’ll be treated as
  a literal asterisk or underscore.

However, syntax highlighting does not recognise that and treats
these characters as formatting characters, despite the surrounding
spaces.
