Very strange reasoning taking one part of a sentence and saying this was
my only reason.

You could simply downgrade those other packages to get it going again.
My guess it was just luck that it worked.

No, this is not true. Please check again, this one user (might even have
been more) reported he got it working with Windows 98, which is the
first edition. A quick google search shows several users complaining
that SE doesn't work on different host systems.

I did not speak about Innotek, the company, I spoke about the guys being
upstream. The upstream guys don't care about Win98SE I'd say at least I
don't know anyone who does. At the very least I have to do is tag this
bug wontfix, moreinfo and upstream. It's not a huge difference to
closing it, don't you think?
