The current version in unstable still doesn't use the lsb logging
functions, so I'm reopening the bug report.

NOLSB=yes
[..]
[ -f /lib/lsb/init-functions ] || NOLSB=yes

==> NOLSB will never be no
I also think that the checks

 if [ -z "$NOLSB" ]; then
and
 if [ -n "$NOLSB" ]; then

Don't make a lot of sense, as the NOLSB variable will never be empty
