a binary module always has to be completely independet of the host 
systems kernel version at build-time (within some boundaries in special 
exceptions/occations/corner-cases, such as 2.4 vs 2.6); everything else 
is RC.

if virtualbox' makefiles do depend on the running kernel version in any 
way, this needs to be fixed, both for l-m-e-2.6 and for modass.
