It appears that RT_SUCCESS(rc) is false as the log files says:

Support driver version mismatch: DriverVersion=too-old ClientVersion=0x70002

This should only happen for pre 0x00060000 drivers (judgin from the
comment) but the driver is :
vboxdrv: Successfully loaded version 1.6.2_OSE (interface 0x00070002).

Are there other reasons to make RT_SUCCESS(rc) false?

Does this log entry help:
