I'm sorry to hear that. :(
I do know that there aren't any claims by the virtualbox developers that this 
release fixes that problem.  I just saw a comment on the forums and decided 
that it was worth a try.  I rebooted over and over and powered off and on a 
few times.  I've been using the stock configuration that comes with debian.  
This was enough to kill it at leas 75% of the time on 1.6.2 .  I'm going to 
disable VT and try it again a few times to see if that is what's keeping it 
from crashing on my system.  I'll let you know the results.
